Unreal Engine 5 - How will animation be handled

Hi I’m new here, sorry if this is covered somewhere else, I couldn’t find anything about this via search.

I love the new UE5/PS5 Demo. I’ve been thinking about this and have been wondering how creating characters in Zbrush quality/Millions of Polys would translate for animation. I’m guessing that some kind of animatable proxy mesh would be used, but that’s just my guess, I don’t know how translating millions of weighted verts would work, so my question is can the high poly import work with animated characters and how would that be implemented?
