Hi guys, I’ve recently had a huge problem with Unreal 5. I even had to put my graphics card in the oven because of it. First I had system crashes with the error message “video tdr failure” and later it also became “video memory management internal”. After a few crashes I suddenly had pink dots everywhere on the screen, I thought the graphics card was broken. So I took my spare graphics card and tried it with that. The same crash, directly removed to not scrap the graphics card. Then I put my graphics card in the oven to fix it and it works again. Now I’m scared to start Unreal.
Maybe your graphics card / driver is too old. I also have a quite old card, getting warning in UE5 about old driver (but no newer driver available). Using a newer machine where necessary.
Software like substance designer also warns - as well for the TDR issues. There seems to be some tweaks you can do. Check OpenGL “TDR detected” Meaning | NVIDIA. There seem to be ways to increase the TDR timeout.
sounds like you’re overclocked way beyond stability
sounds like vram failure
