After installing UE5 on a new gaming laptop, I can’t even open an UE5 project file.
Everytime I try, the crash report pops up giving the following messages :

Check out this thread with the same error code as you. There may be a plugin or process that needs enabled.
I investigated and found my own temp-fix. It seems the final solution is to enable the open VR plugin through Oculus (still doing research about this).

Thank you for your post. But my project isn’t anything related to VR. It is simply a blank UE5 project that won’t open.

Do you have editor symbols for debugging installed for UE5? Here is where to find it:
So far all signs point to something being missing or not installed correctly. Here is another thread with the same error that explains even more:
PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I went through the crash file carefully again and I noticed “Failed to load required Windows Media Foundation libraries”. So I installed Media feature pack and now everything works. It was because I have N version of W10… and I had no idea that this could be a problem.
Hopefully the above contains the process you need.
