Every Shipping build on Windows throws this Error. It has been 25 days and I need a fix for this so I can get back to work…

When will version 5.6.1 be released? We urgently need a new version with bug fixes, as these bugs have already affected version 5.5.4, making it unusable. Can you release the new version as soon as possible,

If not this month, it will be at the end or beginning of July.

Is it just me or are the viewmodes for “Reflections”…

…and “Detail Lighting”…

…not working correctly anymore?

Best regards.

In version 5.6, shadows no longer move (for example, in swaying trees).
If you disable the Ray Traced Shadows option in the project settings, then the shadows begin to move, but their quality becomes low.

In version 5.5 the shadows work correctly.

I installed odyssey in UE5.6. The odyssey screen is working but the tool options, the sub menu “Odyssey” does not appear. Please guide me to fix the error. Thanks

Evaluate WPO?

You can find the property ” Evaluate World Position Offset in Ray Tracing “ and check it, and the shadow will move normally

I just updated my project to UE 5.6 and I noticed two issues:

  • My Chaos Vehicle is behaving very differently. I believe the culprit is in the Lateral Slip Graph that’s not read correctly. I never had issues since UE5 Early Access about this.
  • Text3D plugin isn’t working at all, it crashes the engine if you try to play a level that uses it. I had to disable it but it’s such a pity because it’s a very handy plugin. Please fix it with a patch!

Can you describe the error? I would like to check for that on my project.

Just some feedback. Compilation times are way slower on 5.6 compared with 5.5.
Im using 5.6.1 and the slowdown is noticeable. Even when doing simple iterative changes.
I monitor my computer usage and it doesnt do much.
I have 32 threads and decides to use only one maybe.

I have a 4080 with 16GB VRAM.

My current project (Archviz Walkthrough) used constantly around 6GB of VRAM in UE 5.5.
I copied the project and switched to 5.6.
Afterwards my VRAM constantly increases when running the game, both in editor and packed executable.
After some seconds of walking around in the scene I get the first message:
“Video memory has been exhausted…”
After this VRAM continously increases, after some more minutes I am 10GB (!) over budget.

NVidia studio drivers are up to date.

Any idea?

Shipping builds still show Stat messages, like prints. And Project Launcher can’t package. Project Launcher was broken in 5.5 too, but you stated it’s the “official” way to package a game… so maybe you could fix it soon.

Project Launcher works for me. I only had issues with the Text3D as I had to remove any BP or Level that used it, otherwise it compiled my game without issues.

Could you post your settings in there, please?

Thanks!

you might be running into the same issue as I was,
could give this a try:

Hi, if you’re still experiencing this issue, for me the only way to solve it is by using commandlet outside of editor like said here: World Partition Builder Commandlet Reference | Unreal Engine 5.6 Documentation | Epic Developer Community

can confirm this happen since 5.5 for me too, if trying to build HLOD from editor I also experiencing compile shader crashes and won’t seem to proceed at all.
