Unreal Engine 5.2.1 - Assertion Failed: IsInGameThread()

I have been encountering a problem in my UE5 project where the editor immediately crashes whenever I try to recompile my C++ code. I have attached a screenshot of this error message to this post.

All of my C++ code was running fine when I stopped working on it yesterday, but after trying to continue working today I have encountered this error repeatedly. It is preventing me from doing any more work on my current project. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I just started having this problem as well.

NVIDIA just updated the driver today, and I think it may be related.

Not sure though.

FYI, I VALIDATED Unreal and the issue resolved.

Now I’m positive it was a driver issue caused by the update.

Welcome to the Unreal Engine Community Forum! As Leo mentioned, I’d start with validating your files in the launcher. I’ve saw multiple reports of issues from the new NVidia drivers with UE5. Validation has been a fairly consistent fix. Let me know if that doesn’t work and we’ll check some other areas. Thanks!
