Unreal Engine 5.0.3 crash when using the right click

When I use the right click on the content browser, the engine crash.

I was following a tutorial about IK retargeting, exported a few animation, realized wy retargeting pose was a little off, so I readjusted the pose, tried to export them again, and then the engine crashed.

I tried retargeting a single animation, choosing a different folder, it always crashed, but with the crashing pop-up info.

I then tried to remove my IK Retargeter to make a new one. After deleting it, I wanted to create a new one, so Right-click, go to animation, and now it simply crashed without the popup.

I tried on a different project, it also crash on right-click.

I tried veryfing the UE5 files, it all seemed right.

I tried reinstalling Unreal from scratch, still doesn’t work.

I’m out of solutions, I’d like to be back learning Unreal, but without right-click, there isn"t much I can do…

I’ve just tested the 5.1, and I have the same problem with my project.

After that, I’ve tried to start a new project, and it worked fine. This means something in my project isn’t working properly.

I wanted to recompile the C++ project, but simply opening the “Tool” menu crash the Engine, so it’s not only the right clicking.

I manually opened VS Code and compiled the project. The engine is still crashing.

I deleted all the rig files I created and deleted all the animations I added before it started crashing, but it didn’t work.

I also tried to delete the cached and backup files in a few folders in the project (Binaries,
DerivedDataCache,Intermediate, Saved) and still it didn’t work.

Creating a new project in 5.0.3 show the same problem.

Are you using maybe a foreign language characters in your folder names? I’ve noticed that that causes major problems in unreal projects (it can’t find files because of non roman alphabet folder names) and usually ends in weird crashes

No foreign characters. I’ve been working on this tutorial series for the pas weeks without any trouble.

Fixed for now.

Solution: Update the graphics drivers (AMD) and reset the settings to factory default.

thanks for this, you are a life saver.

I am on a nvidia gpu but the same fix work:
resetting the prefs in the nvidia control panel.
