It seems that after the Launcher update I am unable to open my project. There is the following error:
The game module could not be loaded. There may be an operating system error or the module may not be properly set up.
After that the engine crashes.
I’ve set the Launcher to be run as administrator in the shortcut properties.
EDIT: One more thing, the Launcher icon does not appear in the task bar, instead the Windows icon appears.
UPDATE: It seems to be working now after several restarts, though the original icon does not appear in the task bar.

I wasn’t able to open a project via explorer either, but as I said, it is now working after several restarts and setting Run As Administrator in the Compatibility tab.
There is another issue now: I am unable to compile in VS if the project is open in the Editor. Here is the error:
LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file ‘C:\Users.…\Documents\Unreal Projects\Inventory48\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor-Inventory48.dll’
It compiles fine if the Editor is closed.

I’ve got to run a couple more tests to see if this is consistent before posting to AnswerHub but is anyone else noticing if you create a DynamicMaterialInstance and assign it to a mesh from the Construction Script of a BP, the mesh never gets the material?
EDIT: Just ran another test w/ simply assigning a MaterialInstance and that didn’t work either

I’m struggling with the mouse system since the pre 4.6 version… Now looks it’s near a solution on 4.8.
I’m switching the mouse cursor through a method that overrides the CurrentMouseCursor type on the PlayerController, but these changes are just updating around 1 second after called (if I don’t move the mouse) or if I’m shaking it.
I’ve tried place the method on the player tick, but the change doesn’t looks related to call the switch, but on some internal update into some Slate/Viewport thing (can’t find it).
Is there a method I can call in 4.8 after change my mouse to “update” the cursor change? (If right from playercontroller will be a bless).
It’s nothing related to load the widget, since the shakemouse hack proccess the update immediatelly.

Hey Guys,
Just found another one. Easy to replicate. If you have a dual monitor setup and put the Material Editor on one side (right in my case) and the Editor on the other monitor. If you put a Emissive and crank it up to the point it would normally create a Lens Flare, you will actually see the Lens Reflections render in the Editor. I have noticed similar issues when testing MP and seeing some of the Post not show up on one window but the other.

EDIT: Now I’m unfortunately noticing in one of my projects odd flickering from a couple Lens Flares that wasn’t present before.
Just notice that all our camera shake via ClientPlayCameraShake is doing nothing in 4.8.
Anyone else is having the same problem?

Any news on UE-17032 ? It doesn’t look fixed in 4.8.1 but it’s a showstopper for us, so I’m hoping it will be in for 4.8.2?

This bug report is still being assessed by the development staff. Unfortunately, I do not have a timeframe of when this will be addressed.

Can someone please tell me where i can find the pin comment?
I loathe zooming out and see this massive comment bubbles everywhere.
It used to be on the comment itself but i see it was removed.
Looking at all 57 related entries in the release notes proved fruitless.
Edit: What i am doing at the moment is leaving a UE 4.7 project open with a single BP. After i created my comments in 4.8 project i copy and paste it into the 4.7 window, tick the pin and then copy it back.

Sorry if these changes are causing you problems, the logic here is that comment node bubbles are kind of a special case. At low zoom levels the comment node title text is clearly readable and the comment bubble serves no useful purpose and clutters the graph but when the zoom increases and the comment node title text becomes unreadable the comment bubble for these nodes should automatically display and be pinned so users can easily read commented sections without having to zoom back in to the node. This makes the pinning control redundant in this case and when I polled opinions for this internally there was some resistance to having the visibility control without the pinning control because this was said to be even more confusing.
Given the expected behavior with regards to zooming for comment nodes I assume the re-addition of the visibility button for comment nodes would resolve the problems with the comment node bubbles you have? and if so I’ll re-open the discussion about putting this back in

Tried yesterday and all i got was an installation failed! error with a code error: 1.
Today i just got stuck in the downloading progress with a 0 b/s… (sometimes it get some speed and downloads some mb’s but then again go back to 0 b/s)
is there something wrong with the server?

Awesome. I just wanted to make sure the easiest solution was not the problem so we could quickly move on. I have a few more questions/suggestions so we can whittle down what may be occurring.

It updated and when finished asked me to update the shortcut icon that was obsolete or something like that. Clicked on ok and now the launcher lost his icon :S Maybe something got corrupted?

The launcher icon error is a known issue and we’re currently looking into the cause. Are you able to access 4.8.1 and utilize your project now? I checked through the logs and unfortunately they abrubtly end without producing an error message so that won’t be much help in determining what may have been occurring. It is possible that it was a corruption error or a file was missing from the editor that it needed to complete the installation, which if the verify worked and you are now able to update is much more likely.
