Unreal Engine 4.25 Preview

Whats about raytracing? Correct Translucent Shadows, Global Illumination and so on?

Anything new about Chaos in 4.25?

Mac OS Catalina here. I made a VR test project with 4.25. Added Android as target platform and all usual stuff which works with 4.24. On 4.25, I cannot locate my Oculus Quest in “Launch” command, it is correctly found in ADB (terminal) and UE Device Manager window.

When did all of the ‘GEO’ listings for level editing / whiteboxing get removed from Trello?

Sad to see it all disappear…wouldn’t it be great if we could all ‘vote’ on Trello for items that we actually want to use/see sooner in development than later in development?

It would be great if visiting Trello actually made a difference to what Epic Games end up focusing on, would it not?

I noticed Editor modes buttons moved to the Toolbar. Now there is only Place Actors toolbar. It would be great if names of the categories could collapse so the panel can take less space on the screen.

The collapsing feature would be nice. However, I think each category should have its own icon then instead of just one letter.

Have been trying to achieve an effect for almost 10 versions now, and can’t seem to get it right. But it’s finally here!!!

Suggestion, why not every n releases have a no new features rule. The focus entirely on bug fixes to force quality improvements over features.

Let’s hope UE4.25 will be a stable version again. The last releases are more or less unusable if you develop multiplatform on consoles.

Epic please heavily improve the reliability of the engine!

With Chaos completely broken on 4.24, can we expect fixes in 4.25? I’m really confused as to the development process of it.

Me too, I re-varified, and that didnt help, reinstalled it, nope. I then logged in as admin, and it launched just fine. Im still logged as admin, will go back to usual user soon to see if it works now.

edit: running “as admin” or changing user to full control etc As normal user causes crash still. I need to actually login as Administrator, to get it to launch. Even if I am and admin. I am win10 Insider, so could be other issues.

same. can’t even open 4.25… Do they even test this before sending out copies? LOL

My pc only has my main admin login. 4.25 does not open.

Frostic, can you make a new user? I tried also making a new user with admin Privileges and it allows me to use 4.25. I wasnt comfortable staying logged in as the real Admin.

I noticed the the codeworks is not in the extras folder. Are there new settings required? My Quest and S8 are not detected. Anyone have any luck?

how many times do they have to say CHAOS WONT BE IN THE ENGINE UNLESS YOU COMPILE FROM SOURCE.
