With Epic developing two games with UE at the moment, we can hardly say the engine is untested.

Actually interesting to know IF they update for their two games.
Or if they do what else does and stick with shaking hands to one version where you found a halfway stable and bug-free workflow and only, really, only update if you are held at gunpoint!
I do not think they update at all, unless they sit next to the engine coders in their office.

Well I dunno, you and me seem to have a wildly different experience with UE. Like I said earlier I really don’t have stability issues with UE. I do have bugs, like in every software, and I think people at Epic building Paragon or Fortnite have bugs as well. But the engine is extremely usable at this point, has been for years. Hell, I worked on UE4 before it was publicly available, it was already stable and usable at that point.

The 4.10.1 Hotfix is now live! This Hotfix resolves around 40 issues and further helps to solidify what is already one of our most stable UE4 releases.

Thanks for the new update. :slight_smile: Still have to say I am still having big FPS drops (as in 4.10.0) even in editor. First its supper smooth then suddently cant look at the same landscape/objects without FPS dropping near 1. Watching sky may still be smooth but looking anyother stutter. Then again suddently FPS may get smooth again to be dropped to 1 later. Seem to get worse the more editor is open. Already after 5min it get noticeable worse. Using win10, i7 5820K, 32gt, samsung SSD 950 pro, GTX780. Using tesselated landscape material and many mesh material have also tessellation if the issue is somehow related to that.

I hope the error where having anything except the default layout causes widgets (and presumably more windows) to crash on opening. Didnt see anything that seemed like it in the patch notes but crossing my fingers.

Some questions about hotfixs in general:
Is it optional?
How big is the download?

The reason I ask is because I don’t want to start the launcher while connected to the internet and then have to download ~7GiB (more then what I get per month) before I can use the engine again.

You guys are champs! Fixed UE-23364, can’t wait to try it out! I’m going to get that out to the rest of the team once I get home and we can finally have version control for again!

@ryan20fun afaik its about 2gb, if these nothing in the bug fix list then leave it, you don’t have to update if you don’t want to.

I think the download size depends on your existing installation… eg it is much bigger if you did not download 4.10 before.
