Unreal Engine 4.10.2 won't download

Hi All,

I am trying to install Unreal Engine and have been trying that for a really long time but it just won’t download.

I am using the EPIC Launcher and I downloaded Shadow Complex and Unreal Tournament without any issues. However the Unreal Engine just won’t download.

Once, I left the download running overnight and in the morning, I got an Error Code 5 and the whole install was busted.

So, I uninstalled and am trying to re-install but now I keep getting another issue.

The download keeps stopping in the process and when it is downloading, it downloads at very slow speeds.

Hello ShashankRaj,

Based on your logs there may be an issue with the number of connections being made. Let’s modify the engine.ini file in order to reduce that.

Please locate the engine.ini file. Typically it’s located here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini

At the end of the file paste in this:

[Portal.BuildPatch] ChunkDownloads=3

If this does not work, could you please generate a new debug log and attach it?

Did this work for anyone else because it didn’t for me.

I did as you suggested and it did work but not as smooth as would have expected. I normally get 120-140 KBPS on my downloads but his would not go more than 100 or so.

Anyways, I left it to download overnight and today morning when I went to it, I was getting the error below.

After that, my Unreal Engine updated itself and I hoped that the issue would be fixed, but to my dismay, I am getting the below error and now I am just no able to use it…

This is SOOOOoo Frustrating , and I am almost about to give up on this !!!

We have recently updated the launcher to address some of the prerequisite issues. Please see the accepted answer to this post for the steps to follow.
