I’ve been trying to start a project with unreal editor 4.13.0, but when loading the project the program freezes at 96% then crashes. I’ve tried uninstalling then reinstalling unreal engine and launching a new project but with no luck, the same problem arises.
I’m using my Late 2013 13" Macbook Pro, has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
My project has suddenly started crashing at 96% when opening in the editor. The game runs in standalone though. I have found no solution yet unfortunately. I swear this engine breaks more often than it works.
This has been reported a couple of times on the following link:
Unreal Editor not responding when loading 96% (mac)
However, no one has responded to the questions or whether or not the posted trouble shooting steps have been effective. In order for us to be able to isolate the cause of this, we will need to be able to reproduce the issue here.
Therefore, please provide the following information and/or a link to your project.
- Are you working with the Launcher(Binary Version) or Github Version of the Engine?
- Is this a new project or one that you have updated from a previous version?
- Can you produce this behavior in a new/blank Third Person template (either Blueprint or C++, whichever closest resembles your actual project.)
- When it crashes, do you see the Crash Reporter window? If so, cut and paste the contents of the main window and paste as a document here and be sure to hit the “submit” button.
If you are willing to share a copy of your project, please send a link to a zipped version of your project on Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. to me on our .
- I believe I am using the Binary version of Unreal Engine, I didn’t download it from Github.
- This is a new project, I don’t have any previous projects.
- Yes, any project I start, whether it be third person or any of the other views, the engine crashes.
- Yes I see the crash report.
I initially misread your MacBook Pro 2013 as 2015 and assumed it met the specs to run UE4. However, the log you provided shows it only has 4GBs of RAM and only two processors and, thus, is experiencing memory allocation errors.
Please review the specifications required to run UE4 here: [Hardware & Software Specifications][2] and let me know if you have any further questions regarding hardware or software requirements for UE4.
