Quick update: The VR Editor has been merged into the upcoming 4.12 release as an experimental feature, and you can access it from the “master” branch on GitHub.
Unfortunately the commit description is truncated, so I attached the summary of all of the individual changes here for you. This may be useful because the full history of the VR Editor branch wasn’t mirrored to GitHub (because we started the project a long time ago in an offshoot branch.)
The online docs are a bit out of date. You need to visit the Experimental section of Editor Preferences and check “Enable VR Editing” under “VR”. Then you’ll get the toolbar button that can switch you into VR Mode.
Also in the latest release, Oculus Touch controllers work immediately out of the box, no extra SDK setup required. Just make sure you have the latest version of Oculus Home.
