I recently changed my OS to Ubuntu and i’ve been trying to download the Unreal Editor for it. The process went smoothly for the most part and I was able to open the Project Browser as normal and create a new empty project. However as soon as I went to run the project the splashscreen loaded to 94%, got stuck and froze my entire computer - I had to hold down my power button to force it to shut down. I’ve tried to reinstall the engine using an older version on GitHub but I still have the same problem and every single time it gets stuck on 94%.
sad to say but it’s kinda normal, when opening a project for the first time it usually takes longer than normal and it goes fast till 94%, once it took me 3-4hours to go from 94% to 100% when i tried to open “the infiltrator” project for the first time, usually percentages in software aren’t very accurate, what i recommend is: try to create and open a new project, it should be faster, if it isn’t working you have a problem with unreal, if it worked then try to open your project again, and let it take it’s time, when i tried to open a project on ubuntu for the first time the same happened to me, and unreal started to freeze, but i just let it there and after sometime it opened, it may be stake minutes, but it can take hours, deppends on the size of your project.
