Hello, I installed Unreal 4.21 in Ubuntu 18.10 successfully.
When I tried to start the program a prompt suggested I needed Vulkan drivers so I installed the “mesa-vulkan-drivers” package available in Ubuntu.
The program start fine but once it’s loaded into a project (it does load the project perfectly fine) it crashes almost immediately. I just wanted to bring this up to attention as I don’t think there’s another solution but to install proprietary drivers which I don’t want to do.
Thank you very much for your time.

Thanks
The workaround would be to use OpenGL again. With UE4.21 the default renderer is Vulkan. Just Pass -opengl4 as flag when you start the UE4Editor. As said, its a workaround for those wants to use the 4.21 editor etc.
I’m also having this problem. My machine “freezes” upon UE4Editor restart. I’m able to click “send report” before that happens, though. Hope this helps
Worked for me! Thanks!
For the record, I have Linux Mint (which is based in Ubuntu 18.04) using also Mesa Vulcan Drivers, so have to use -opengl4
for the moment.
My editor version is UE4.22.0
