Unreal animation blueprint is now NULL. I cannot access the Animation BP via right clicking or left clicking on the animation blueprint icon.

Hi everyone!

If a animation BP becomes null and then I cannot access it via right clicking, or left clicking is there anyway to salvage the animation BP?

When right clicking the animation bp the editor says that the file cannot be found. The .uasset is still available in the content folder. I cannot open the animation BP at all nor can I export it or even delete the Animation BP. If there is nothing I can do but to just recreate the Animation BP from scratch just let me know.

I have tried to export the .uasset and I tried to reimport the .uasset but the engine will not register the asset. I am using Unreal engine version 4.26.

If you need more context let me know as well I will edit my post as required!

Hello, Quaked,

The best suggestion I have is to migrate a copy of that blueprint from another project.

If you do not have another copy, then, just like not making a backup when a drive fails, you’re probably out of luck.

Moving forward, you should ALWAYS have at least one backup of your projects.

You can ZIP your project:
