Unreal 5.7 Ui not working?

Unreal used to work fine, but now I can’t open any of the windows up top like File Edit Window Tools Build Platforms Select or Actor. I can’t even close Blueprints.

Sometimes after pressing them multiple times they will stay open, but then go back to not working.

I already uninstalled and reinstalled Unreal 5.7

and I Updated my drivers

Anyone know how to fix ?

Same Issue.. For some disabling Discord overlay and other overlay fixed it but not for me. You wouldn’t happen to have an ultra-wide Monitor?

Hello folks! I was debugging things around this since friday. What helped is setting this console variable

WindowsApplication.UseWorkerThreadForRawInput 0

See details here https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine/commit/b1a6f9bb44d20d6bb0498540359b9ea87e2dbbb4#diff-967a8b052ddc8562232809da4bb4dcb1ccc1ff54c87c9e22ab65a86cb76259e4

pls confirm if this helped (I’m on windows 11)

Hey, try disabling any overlays you possibly have enabled for Unreal like Discord Overlay or NVIDIA App overlay.

That worked for me, hope it works for you too.

Legend! :raising_hands:

This worked for me on Windows 11.

The Link is a 404 btw.

This is not a solution, it’s a workaround, Epic should fix it since it’s happening only with 5.7, you can’t just tell people to disable overlays, not only Discord uses them…

This seems to be working, I edited “UE_5.7\Engine\Config\Windows\BaseWindowsEngine.ini” and changed the last line, this should apply to all 5.7 projects, but it’s still a workaround:

[ConsoleVariables]
WindowsApplication.UseWorkerThreadForRawInput=False

It’s not a 404, you probably don’t have access to the UE source code or you are not logged in into GitHub.

I don’t have any overlays that I’m aware of. I was launching two Standalone instances from the editor. One of them worked fine, the other was completely unresponsive to clicks, even in the title bar. I couldn’t move the window or close it, and clicks inside the window were ignored. Setting UseWorkerThreadForRawInput=False in BaseWindowsEngine.ini fixed it for me.

I’ve seen your comment on GitHub, I hope they will fix this in the next update because I had to set it back to false after I updated from 5.7.0 to 5.7.1

My editor dropdown menus visually duplicate parts of main editor window while the buttons are functionally present.
Windows 10, UE 5.7.1, no Discord app, disabled NVIDIA overlay, UseWorkerThreadForRawInput=False set.
None of this has helped. This has completely halted my 5.7 project.

Follow this thread, this is exactly what is happening to me every dropmenu duplicates parts of the main editor
