I’ve been playing the Uno app and the idea of playing for money got in my head.
Everyone starts with 300 - 500 points - too much and the game goes to long, it needs some testing, but watching the scores it seems a reasonable range to start with.
Each point gets a currency value - if playing for money or crypto.
Then you use the Uno scoring and pay for the cards you have left in your hand after every round.
When someone gets busted (out of points), the game is over.
They might go in the hole, probably will nearly all the time, but that gets dismissed.
Then a new game can start and requires a new buy in from all the players.
One of the ways the digital version isn’t as good as IRL is the pain you suffer when counting up the points at the end of a hand - the game does that for you.
This adds some pain - even if it’s for free.
And for money it’s even better when you win and even worse when you lose, i.e. a better game!
