Unknown Package Error UE5.2

Hi all,

I just updated my project from 4.27 to 5.2.1

The game runs properly in the editor but won’t package.

Below is the entire message log.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Got it working.

Not sure precisely which step did it, but:

  • Deleted Saved, Intermediate, .vs and .sln
  • Created a new C++ class in the content browser
  • Right click project and rebuild VS files
  • Inside VS 2022: Click help > Check for updates. (VS 2019 didn’t work, had to use 2022 I think).
  • Back inside the Unreal Engine: Click “Platforms” (the packaging button) > Windows > [Your PC name] > Force Update Device
  • Restart PC
  • Package success

I also Disabled Apex Destruction and Megascans Quixel plugins - it might be unrelated but I had an issue at one point where the project would package but the game itself wouldn’t launch. This step may have solved that.

I also found a solution on the Epic forum which suggested switching your project to Development and back or something inside VS. I did that at one point too, may have helped I’m not sure.
