I have installed Unreal Engine on my MacBook Pro (M1) but wish now to uninstall it. I have tried to follow the instructions, but the only option in the menu for my installation of the Unreal Engine is Launch - I can’t see all the other options in the instructions, including Uninstall/Remove. Any suggestions?
Hello there @bensullivan2002!
Checking around the community, it seems uninstalling on Mac can be a bit tricky sometimes. Please make sure you have the Library tab selected in the Launcher, then open the drop down menu of your install. If the “Remove” button is not available, you can click the X in the upper left corner of square, to get the same function:
Once you no longer have a UE install, nor any games present, you can take the following steps to fully remove the Launcher, and it’s related elements:
- Quit Epic Games Launcher and drag it to the Trash.
- Click the Finder in the Dock and then Go > Go to Folder.
- In the text box that pop up, type or paste each of the paths below and at each location. Press Return and, in the folder that opens, look for files with Epic or Unreal in their name and drag them to the Trash.
/Users/Shared/
~/Library/Application Support/
~/Library/Application Support/Epic - Look in your Documents folder for a folder named ‘Unreal Projects’ and drag that to the Trash.
- Empty the Trash.
