I have two versions of ue4 4.6 installed, one source from github and a normal downloaded one which I updated through launcher.
I’d like to uninstall github one since it’s taking up 23gb on my drive.
when I got into my control panel I can only see one program called ‘unreal engine’, but I don’t want to uninstall them both.
how do I delete github version without affecting my other copy of ue4?
When you get engine from GitHub, you’re getting full, uncompiled source for engine. binary version already has a lot of this built, so it’s much smaller, but if you want to edit source you need to get everything and build it yourself. It ends up being a much larger folder.
I cannot delete UnrealEngine\Engine\Saved\Config\Windows. I am admin and cannot change rights on folder to delete it. No solution from Google yielded any results. Is there some way to delete that folder or get access to it?
I am able to recover all Engine files if that is of any help.
Edit: Nevermind, I solved it by booting Ubuntu from DVD and deleting everything from there.
