UnicornStudios - Damage-Based Weapon Upgrade System

Turn weapon damage into meaningful progression.

Damage-Based Weapon Upgrade System is an editable Verse-powered gameplay system for UEFN. Players deal damage to configured NPC targets with a specific weapon, reach that weapon’s damage requirement, and spend Gold to unlock its next rarity level.

Each weapon progresses independently. Damage dealt with one weapon does not advance another weapon’s upgrade progress.

HOW IT WORKS
• Use a configured weapon to deal damage to NPC targets.
• Reach the damage requirement for that weapon’s current upgrade stage.
• Receive a personal upgrade-ready notification.
• Open the Weapon Upgrade interface and spend the required Gold.
• Unlock the next weapon level, up to Level 5.

PROGRESSION
• Five levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
• Separate saved levels and damage progress for each player and WeaponID.
• Configurable base damage requirement for each weapon.
• Each following stage requires 2.5 times the previous threshold, rounded to the nearest whole number, with halves rounded up.
• Damage is capped at the current threshold.
• After a successful upgrade, only that weapon’s stage damage resets. Excess damage does not carry over.
• Upgrading does not automatically grant or replace the weapon currently held.

INTERFACE
• Animated weapon upgrade window and weapon cards.
• Weapon names, icons, and rarity variants supplied by the shared Weapon Catalog.
• Current level, damage progress, required damage, and next upgrade cost.
• Personal upgrade-ready notifications.
• Separate UI instances and upgrade selections for each player.
• Up to eight configured weapon entries in the supplied interface.

CUSTOMIZATION
Configure weapon entries, damage requirements, NPC Spawners, Gold prices, Conditional Buttons, Item Removers, and Item Granters through UEFN Details.

The supplied payment setup uses Fortnite inventory Gold. Another supported inventory-item currency can be configured by adapting the checker, removers, reward devices, and displayed currency assets. Integration with a custom economy requires changes to the supplied Verse code.

• Five Verse source files.
• Eleven Widget Blueprints, including supporting catalog and loadout widgets.
• UI textures, materials, and animations.
• Separate English PDF setup guide.

SETUP NOTES
This is a configurable gameplay system. Device assignments, registered item variants, damage thresholds, and payment amounts must match your project configuration.

Weapon identification uses configured Conditional Buttons to check the weapon held when damage is processed. It does not scan every inventory slot. Delayed projectiles and switching weapons after firing can affect damage attribution.

UEFN only. This product is not a standard Unreal Engine or Unity project.
