Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x000002b3bdec0030

I’m very new to Unreal… but for the last 3 days the engine just refuses to move on with the most basic of things.
It crashes seemingly at random when I open things (landscape, blueprint, anims) and I have no idea what changed.
I updated my driver, my nvidia card, unistalled and reinstalled… nothing works :frowning:
I honestly have no idea what to do.
Pls, if anyone knows what’s happening, pls let me know. I’m completely stunned.

Here is the report it gives me

Hey ! Same issue here and i’ve seen another topic about the same error (4d ago on UE 5.1). Here is the link : Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x0000014d80b20030 - Development / Platform & Builds - Epic Developer Community Forums (unrealengine.com)
I can’t help unfortunately.

Hey @Eventide_Dreams!

You are right that this seems to be due to your Nvidia Drivers.

In your NVidia control panel, have you tuned any settings? Another common fix for this issue is to go into NVidia Control Panel and reset the global defaults. There may be a setting active or error that is making Unreal unable to function.

Use the following steps to reset your settings to see if that corrects it.

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Click Manage 3D Settings.
  3. Click the Global Settings tab.
  4. In the upper-right corner, click Restore Defaults.

I hope the above is the solution you need!

Ok… after a bit of lurking and tears I found the answer.
Gonna leave it here for anyone in the future. turs out that, when nvidia drivers perform an update or change in engine, it does not mean that it resets the installation to some sort of ‘default’.
So, what correct it for me, was going into the nvidia driver and selectin ‘Manual’ installation. In there, you gotta select the ‘Perform a clean installation’ so it gets rid of the nvwgf2umx error.
Legit do not unerstand how is it that a changing driver does not perfom a clean installation, but there u go.
Hope no1 ever encounter this problem, but also hope this helps
