I have scanned a school… 775 photos.
(16 control points, ranging from 57 images attached to one point down to 3)
I’ve run into a constant error
“Unexpected error occured: Texturing stage 01 sanity check” which won’t let me texture the model. Originally I was able to texture the model but I was having alignment issues so I added more Control Points and now it will not add the texture layer.
Obviously I could delete control points but then the alignment will invariably break again… help… please.
As a side note what exactly does this error tell us? Honestly someone needs to run an audit on the error messages so they are actually helpful.
Hi tawdragon
What were your texture/colorize settings?
What is the source camera/images? How does look created model without color?
If you use just a part of the images, how does it look?
Regarding to sanity check error, this could be a hardware issue. What version of GPU drivers are you using? Please try to update to the latest Nvidia Studio drivers and try again.
Also check if you are not using a singleton mesh for texturing and try lowering the resolution of the texture unwrap to 4k, run fixed texel size unwrap with 2x optimal setting (instead of optimal), and run texturing again.
Hello @tawdragon, just to let you know and possibly anyone else who experienced this issue, we were able to fix the Texturing stage 01 sanity check error and the fix will be available in the upcoming RealityCapture release.
I have this error message for the first time :" texturing stage 1 sanity check".
I work on 1993 photos mesh. I have simplified the mesh from 210 millions to 40 then to 20 millions with succes. I have about 70 differents controls points.
Hi godardp,
can you try simplify model in 50% incremental steps and then try to texture the simplified model.
Also, have you directly textured the simplified model or was this a texture reprojection?
I have the same issue. I might have fixed it by removing all GCP alerts and saving the file. Emptied cache, shut down computer. And when I tried to texture it again it didn’t come with the sanity check error. Still running now. Not sure if the removal of GCP was crucial or it was just the cache with rebooting.
