Understanding ue5 mannequin Animation

Hey out there.
I have a question. If I were to add different animations to the ue5 mannequin, by using Blueprints. For to later on swap it out with a 3d party designed character. What steps would I have to insure to make it work?

The third party character should have the same or a similar bone structure to the UE5 Mannequin. Then you would use the IK retargeter and adjust to bones for the receiving mesh as needed. Check out this great non-Epic affiliated tutorial video on how to do so:
