Understanding the folder structure of DLC paks

If a user were to create an additional plugin, and place this resulting single pak in the same Windows folder as the main game pak, would this be represented as its own directory if seen in the editor? To clarify, can DLC act as if contained in an pre-existing folder? (Some tests so far implied not and that I’d have to go about this another way.)

Scratch that, the top-level path name seems to be the folder name of the mod.
