Unable to Resume Installation and Content Still Takes up HDD Space

Hi
I had to pause my UE4.10.4 download at about 80% due to my exhausting laptop battery.
When I tried to resume after reconnecting my power source, Launcher gave me ‘Insufficient storage available at /Users/Shared/UnrealEngine/4.10 7,538 MB required. Available free space xxx MB’

Surely I had allotted enough space for the installation as requested before starting the initial download. But now at 80% down the road and Launcher is asking me for an additional 7GB to resume the download.

This suggests that the earlier download content is still taking up space somewhere on my HDD. However, I was unable to locate it. Is there a way to remedy this or somehow locate and remove the partially download content and give it another try?

Additionally, I am on a Mac. I noticed that the .DS_Store in the folder /Users/Shared/UnrealEngine/4.10 has the size of 6.62GB . . . that’s roughly 80% of the initial download.
Is this where the failed download content is being stored?
Can I safely remove this and try the installation over again?

There’s also a hidden folder named .evGvC which looks to be a scrap area for installation folders. There is a file called $resumeData which stores Depot information . . .
If I don’t get any help by the time I wake up tomorrow, I will try deleting both the .DS_Store and the .evGvC folder. I believe it should do the trick.

The entire UE 4.10 download takes up approximately 14.5GB once completely downloaded and installed. Do you not have this amount of free space on your HD? You can gain space by deleting previous versions if they exist and you are not using them (ie. 4.5, 4.6., 4.7 etc/)

I would not recommend deleting the .DS_Store file and the .evGvC folder as they are integral to the downloading and installation process. Instead see if you can free space off your HD by moving personal files to an external HD in addition to removing previous versions of the engine, if applicable.

Thank you so much for the insightful reply!
But oops! I got so sleepy and decided to remove them both and hit the pillow.
You are right. Launcher still thinks I have the version partially installed. So I removed 4.10.4 from my Launcher library and it let me install the whole thing from the beginning again. If I knew removing the package from the library would also rid the associated folders as well as the incomplete ones, I would have tried it first.
Hopefully the download will go smoothly tonight and I will finally have 4.10 waiting for me in the morning.

I got it working now. Thank you, !
