Unable to Redeem Adobe Substance 3D Code from Fab Marketplace

Hello,

I recently received a new Substance 3D promo code as a reward for using the Fab marketplace. However, when I try to redeem it on Adobe’s website, I receive an error stating that the code cannot be activated.

Context:

  • In the past, I participated in the Titan Challenge by Epic Games and received a different Substance 3D promo code, which has already expired.
  • The new code I received is from a completely different promotion (Fab marketplace reward), so there should be no connection between them.
  • According to Epic Games’ terms, the new code is valid until May 31, 2025, so it should still work.
  • I have not redeemed multiple codes—each code was from a separate promotion.

What I’ve Tried:

  1. Attempted to redeem the code via Adobe’s redemption page (https://redeem.adobe.com).
  2. Received an error message preventing me from activating it.
  3. Contacted Adobe Support, and they confirmed that the code has not been redeemed yet but could not resolve the issue.
  4. Adobe Support redirected me to Epic Games Support, saying they cannot assist with activation.
  5. I requested an official email confirmation from Adobe stating why the code cannot be redeemed so I could forward it to Epic, but their response was vague and unhelpful.

My Questions:

  • Are there any redemption restrictions that I am unaware of?
  • Has anyone else encountered this problem with a new Fab marketplace promo code?

This situation is frustrating because the new code is still within its validity period, and it’s from a different promotion than my previous one. If there are any hidden limitations on redemption, they should be clearly stated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Technically, I believe there’s nothing stopping me from creating a new account and redeeming the code there. However, I’ve been an Adobe user for about five years, and a lot is tied to my current account—my projects, preferences, and workflow.

It’s frustrating because I shouldn’t have to create a new account just to activate a code that I rightfully received. It feels like an unnecessary complication, especially since this is supposed to be a reward for using the Fab marketplace. I’d really prefer to keep everything in one place rather than juggling multiple accounts just to access software I already have a valid code for.

Hi @iva_creative . Thanks for reporting this - we’re looking into it.

Hi again, @iva_creative . The reason that this is happening is because “Every Epic ID user is eligible to receive a single code and Adobe will permit only a single code redemption per Adobe account” (from the promo page). So if you picked up a code for the Titan Challenge, it’s not possible to stack another Adobe code onto it from Fab.

I hope that clarifies things, even if it doesn’t make it better.

Alright, thank you, @skfabby. That really clarifies the situation.

It’s a shame, especially for people who received this as a bonus for purchasing products on Fab.

Logically, I could just create a new Adobe account or give the key to a friend.
