Keep getting an error message when trying to purchase something from FAB for Unreal. I tried different cards and payment methods. Even tried a different product.
“Looks like something went wrong. For your protection, this transaction has been declined. Please try another card or payment method.”
Well, I had an issue, could not use my preferred payment.
Received a message about a captcha-error which disn’t make any sense to me…
Tried again with PayPal and this did work…
Same problem here, I have tried multiple browsers, (in regular and private modes) cleared all my caches, turned off VPN, multiple payment types, even had a friend log on from his computer, nothing worked. Emailed support last Thursday, aside from a generic response, I have not heard anything. If anyone figures this out anything else I might be doing wrong, please let me know, since I don’t have much faith in hearing back from the Fab staff. (Oh also had no issues before the switch from Marketplace to Fab)
I won’t lie, fab was the worst decision Epic could have made. It has nothing but problems, not limited to spam content, unable to add items to your project. But, for me I was charged for a purchase that declined… Like wtf Epic? How do you release a broken product? I love Epic, but sometimes they make some stupid decisions.
Has anyone made any progress on this issue? I’m honestly stuck, and it’s becoming extremely frustrating. Fab/Epic isn’t providing any solution, and the Help Center keeps pointing to the bank account as the issue – but we’ve used the same debit cards on countless other platforms without a problem.
It all started with our company account. Everything was working perfectly using our Turkish company details and debit card. Then, we tried to request an invoice for our European company using a personal Turkish card, and we started getting this error:
“Looks like something went wrong. For your protection, this transaction has been declined. Please try another card or other payment methods.”
We’ve tried many different cards, all of which work fine on other online services. Thinking it might be due to a mismatch between the Turkish card and the European invoice info, we switched to European company card, than back to the Turkish company details with Turkish card tried every alternatives – same error again every time.
We even deleted the company information entirely, but then got another frustrating message saying: “If you would like a business receipt for your purchase, please add and save company information.”
At the same time, it still won’t let us proceed with payment – still getting the same “try another card” message.
I tried again using my personal account and added invoice info – now that account also can’t buy anything. Even after removing the company information, I’m still blocked.
I’ve started using alternatives like ArtStation just to keep moving, but this is incredibly frustrating. Why are we being blocked from purchasing? And why isn’t Epic or Fab providing real support? Are we permanently banned just for trying to get a legal receipt?
