Unable to open project for days. I do not understand the errors.

I have not made any changes to MyCharacter.Cpp. How do I even begin troubleshooting this?

This indicates that you have the variable declared in the header and then you create a new variable with the same name in your code file.

Problem solved.

Somehow intellisense was consistently ignoring a lingering old variable inside of MyCharacter.Cpp that i forgot to clean up as i was shuffling around include dependencies. It has nothing to do with any error message ever printed to me whatsoever. Very frustrating for a noobie like me. My fault for not using version control.
