Unable to load PTX and E57 files

I have two PCs with RealityCapture installed. One is able to load my scan files and the other is not. I’ve updated to the latest version but it still won’t load the files. Is there a CODEC or similar type of file missing from the PC that won’t load the scan files?

Hi i3vtsg,
what is a difference between those computers?
When you are trying to import data to second computer, do you get some error?

Both computers are running version 1.2.2.116899. The working computer is accessing the files on a network drive. The files were copied to an external drive to be imported on the other computer but when we select either a .e57 or .ptx file to import and accepting the import setting nothing happens.

Can you try save the data directly on the computer’s disc (don’t use external discs for that)?
Also, can you try reset the application on not working computer(open RC with pushed SHIFT and choose MAKE IT LIKE A CLEAN INSTALL).

Tried moving the data directly to the computer and also reset the application but the data is still not being imported.

This is really strange. Are you using the same import settings? If you check the Create Model settings for laser scans are they the same for both computers? Is this happening also for other E57 or PTX files?
You wrote, that this wasn’t work also in previous version? Do those PCs have the same HW?

While looking into the differences between the two computers I realized that working one has a Full license while the other has a PGM license which only works for photogrammatic projects. Licenses were purchased before my time with the company and I was not aware of the differences.

It would be great if in a future update could add a dialog box stating that the license does not support importing scan data files.

My question now is could we export the data to a format that the computer with PGM license could then use?

Thank you so much for your assistance though!

Regarding to your question, do you mean laser scan data? Then no, PGM license supported only images and videos.
Also, Full and PGM are now obsolete. There are now only ENT license and PPI.
