download the 5_3_1 plugin here and use it to uninstall your current version of datasmith plugin for Sketchup.

I faced same problem when I install the new version (5_3_1.msi), it told me “Unable to remove the earlier version of Unreal Datasmith Exporter for SketchUp Pro”
Does the error message list what is the earlier verison?
The Unreal Datasmith Max Exporter 5.5.0 reports an unsupported version of 3ds Max. I am using 3ds Max 2025.3.
