Unable to install Engine using Launcher

Hi.

I am trying to install the engine on my laptop. But it fails.

Firstly, after it downloads the engine it then tries to install and states, prerequisites not met. Failed install. And it stops.
I have all the latest drivers and windows updates. Visual studio is up to date also.

I closed the editor and when i try to select install it says “could not retrieve download information”
I then deleted everything and uninstalled all Epic Games related stuff. Retried the procedure. Redownloaded and got the same results.

I came here to post this. I followed the document on how to obtain the log files. Here is the dx diag and launcher log files.
Logs

As part of the troubleshooting it said i should enable the launchers debugging.
I enabled debugging. Clicked resume and it threw the error again.

The 2nd time however it actually went through and completed the install.
Not sure if just very lucky or 100th time is the charm.
Doing this it now does not immediately throw the error but instead verifies.

Now that it is installed i am happy but i guess its worth it for you guys to have the information as i would prefer not to run into this issue again when i format and reinstall in the next few weeks.

Hi.

Can i have an update. I ran into an issue in 4.10 and decided to test 4.11 to see if i still encounter an animation bug. But i cannot install 4.11. I get the same errors as above.

It downloads. Prerequisites not met blah blah. Restart. Then the webcache folder is locked and the launcher cant relaunch the install. I have to then delete everything. Uninstall everything. Stare at the download screen for 8 hours. And try again.

repeat

ok finally. So a workaround. Go to AppData / $username$ and add everyone to the EpicLauncher folder with full control. Make sure not to do it under just the saved folder. It has to be top level. Seems the launcher locks the top folder.
