Summary
Dear FAB Support Team,
Hello,
I am trying to complete my seller (Trader) verification on FAB in order to sell my digital content as an independent individual creator.
However, I am currently unable to proceed because the “Company VAT number” field appears to be mandatory and only accepts a valid VAT number format.
As a non-EU individual seller based in South Korea, I do not have a VAT number, and I am not registered for VAT.
I have tried entering values such as “Not registered” and other placeholders, but the system continues to display the error message:
“The VAT number provided is invalid.”
According to Epic/FAB documentation, VAT registration should not be required for non-EU individual sellers, so I believe this may be a validation or configuration issue in the registration flow.
Could you please advise on:
How individual sellers without a VAT number should complete this step, or
Whether my account can be manually verified or adjusted so I can proceed without a VAT number?
I would greatly appreciate your guidance, as this issue currently prevents me from completing seller registration.
Thank you very much for your time and support.
Kind regards,

Steps to Reproduce
- Log in to a FAB account.
- Navigate to Seller / Trader Verification.
- Select individual seller (non-EU).
- Proceed to the Company information section.
- Enter a company name for an individual creator.
- Attempt to save the form without a VAT number or with a non-VAT value (e.g., “Not registered”).
- Click “Save Changes”.
Expected Result
As a non-EU individual seller without VAT registration, the form should allow completion without requiring a valid VAT number, or provide an alternative option for non-VAT individual sellers.
Observed Result
The form requires a valid VAT number format and displays an error message stating that the provided VAT number is invalid. This prevents saving the company information and blocks completion of seller (Trader) verification.
Platform
Google Chrome (latest version)
Operating System
Windows 10 (64-bit)
Additional Notes
This issue appears to affect non-EU individual sellers who are not VAT-registered.
