So, I am kind of new to Unreal Engine. I am currently using version 5.5.0 and I have seen videos where inside Unreal you can go to Window, Quixel Bridge and search for an asset and then download and then click add and it will add it to your content browser. Well for some reason this is just not the case for me. When I go to Window, Quixel Bridge and it opens, I see a message appearing talking about UNLIMITED, so I hit agree and then get started then search for an asset but once I click on the asset at the bottom right i do not see DOWNLOAD or ADD, I only see SUBCRIBE. So, am I not able to just add assets etc. into my content browser while inside Unreal anymore? I claimed the metascans etc. and I am logged in when I open the Quixel Bridge while inside Unreal. Do I have to just go to my Quixel profile on FAB and download and then import too unreal? Please help me with this as i cannot find any information on this online at all. Also, when I’m in the Quixel Bridge while inside Unreal I don’t see Megascans to the left either or anything inside my library etc. Thanks.
I also am new, and I also am having the exact same issue.
I have the Quixel Bridge plugin installed and I am able to access it, but it says “SUBSCRIBE” where a “DOWNLOAD” OR “ADD” button should be. Incredibly frustrating as it bars me from conveniently retrieving assets as a newcomer to the platform who’s just trying to learn.
I have some thoughts about it and porbably the solution. Once you are in Fab(the new marketplace), and scroll a bit, you’ll see a huge “claim megascan assets”. You’ll be ok to download once you claimed them.
Actually, (and I suppose I should have specified this), I already have claimed all megascan assets.
Everytime I click subscribe now, it brings me to the fab marketplace and asks me if I’d like to claim all megascan assets, and everytime it does I confirm that I’d like to. Doesn’t change a thing about “subscribe now” being where the “add” or “download” button should be.
errr, sry didn’t see you specified it. perhaps need to switch to the fab plugin as they produce it with 5.5.
Once you are in FAB go to the “My Library” tab at the top of the page. On the asset page you are looking at in FAB, it should have a “Download” button for the item rather than a “Buy Now” button if it is already available to your account. Once you click the “Download” button it will make that asset available to use in your project, but you will then need to go into your Epic Games Launcher, and select Unreal Engine Tab on the left. Then click on Library at the top and it will display 3 sections below. First is the version of your Engines installed, next will be your projects, and last will be your Asset library that is downloaded. You may need to expand these sections to see all items. If you select the project you wish to inject an asset to, you can then click on the “Add to Project” next to each asset you wish to use. Please be aware that for some assets your project may need to be closed then restarted to allow the asset to be available for use after injecting it.
I hope this information is clear and helpful in some way.
