Hello! I’m trying to perform this how-to and experiencing the next issue: I cannot add a camera group in the Tracks window. I click RMB, the pop-up menu appears, I select the appropriate item and… nothing! Actually, I can’t add anything except the New Director Group.
Thank you for the report. We have assigned one of our technicians to investigate your issue and they will be posting here as soon as they are available.
When attempting to add a camera group to a matinee I had the same result the first time I opened the RMB menu and selected an item. Immediately trying again however did allow me to create the camera group. This was on 4.8.2 using Ubuntu 14.10. Can you let me know if you still have the same result if you update Ubuntu?
Hello ! Thanks for your answer! Actually I prefer to stay on LTS releases as long as possible, hmmm… but I could test it on Debian as always… BTW, now I tried to open the project and was not able to open it through engine launcher, I had to open another project and open it from there. And it’s not the first time in 4.8.2.
Let me know if you are able to test on a different distro and if you have the same issue. For the project not opening through the project browser, it would be best to create a separate post so that information doesn’t get lost inside another topic.
I’ve tested on Debian testing (fully updated, MATE DE, english locale) and had the same issue. The issue with the project opening is too inconsistent to do a separate post, but once I track a regularity, I’ll do it.
I have still not been able to find any reproduction for this issue. If you are unable to upgrade your Ubuntu version can you instead check if you get the same problem using the master branch from github or the branch linked below? If you are still having problems please list the steps you take after creating a project.
Seeing as this was unique to Linux and fixed in 4.9, what you’re seeing is likely an unrelated issue. If possible, please create a new post with as much detail about your setup and the result that you’re seeing to help investigate the issue.
