UMG widget editor QOL requests

When creating vars its highly likely you will create a bunch of the same type so for example im creating an item ui that holds the amount of an item.

When creating the vars it keeps defaulting to logic so i have to click it then change to int

I feel if it saved the last type you had this could be a nice qol change for everything as it will limit the amount of times you would need to change the type to only when you actually need too.

2nd qol change

When you add a binding via the details panel it would be nice to group the types up as currently i think it works on named order but then its abit messy scrolling up/down to find the correct type/name.

3rd qol change

When you bind a var int for example again in the details panel it should auto do the conversion function this would save time messing about as you have to click the conversion menu then click the int even though clearly i want that if I’m selecting the int in the first place. There is no reason to show the float conversion or even need to do the conversion anyways it should be automatic.

I know this system is new so just wanting to share feedback.

Widget Switched needs the vars associated with that widget made as a child of the main parent widget so in verse you can change the verse fields for any of those widgets. This currently is not possible i believe and did hold me in place until i re did my system a longer way ie creating 1 master widget with everything inside.

The widget switcher is powerful but the lack of verse field changes atm makes it less of a tool that would be amazing if this were enabled.

4th qol change

It would be nice to have some type of folder/hierarchy in the variables panel as when you have a complex system with many variables it gets abit messy albeit still usable just takes abit of scrolling.

We also need a scroll speed adding to the scroll box as currently i don’t believe there is a setting and sometimes the speed can be so fast. Just a default speed setting that will override the Fortnite one so regardless of how big/small the scroll box is it always uses this user inputted value.
