In UMG, ScrollBox’es are scrolling really slowly. Dragging with mouse or touch, it’s the same. The only way to scroll normally is using the scroll bar that appears. It wasn’t happening before, in 4.12.5. Also, if you go to Project Settings, the list on the left has the same bug. If you try to scroll it dragging with RMB, it scrolls slowly.
###Steps to reproduce
Create a UMG.
Add a ScrollBox to the canvas and some images inside. Enough so that you need to scroll to see them all.
Open Level Blueprint. On BeginPlay create a widget with the newly created UMG class, add it to the viewport and set PlayerController input mode to UI only.
PIE and try to scroll the ScrollBox with RMB.
Hope you guys have the time to fix it for Preview 3. It’s really annoying.
I was able to reproduce this issue on our end. I have written up a report and I have submitted to the developers for further consideration. I have also provided a link to the public tracker. Please use the link provided for future updates. Thank you for your time and information.
###UE 4.13 released and this annoying regression persists.
It’s making us use very large scroll-bars on our mobile project as the customer has actually complained about how hard it is to get to the end of the players’ progress list (among other lists).
I believe it’s fast to solve because it seems some part of the correct code is still there. When we scroll fast and release the finger/right mouse button while still moving it, the “throw” effect seems to have the right speed applied to it. It’s only while effectively dragging that it’s slow.
I see the issue is marked as Fixed, but targeted to 4.14. That’s kinda awful… ain’t there a way to port it to 4.13 (in a hotfix or similar)? Or is it a big change?
Also, the latest version of the launcher (2.12.10-3124823) has this bug.
If you would like to incorporate the solution into your project you can use github to cherry pick and pull the change down into your project (as long as you are using source).
Hello Rudy, we would also highly appreciate if this fix could be a part of the next hotfix patch. Can you tell me please, if there is any chance to push this fix into the next patch?
This is a critical bug for us. It made our games UI useless at all. We don’t want to use source code just because of this bug, I think it really doesn’t worth. It is too annoying to compile 100GB of binaries just for fixing this simple but important bug.
