Ultimate Online Tutorial

Hi, I was wondering if would see in a future a serie of tutorials explaining how to set up an online multiplayer game, like the Shooter Sample. Documentation right now is quite short, and thats makes so difficult learn how to implement all online system on our games. One idea about how to make this serie of tutorials, could be an step by step analysis of Shooter Sample Game, or other idea could be a continuation of the Programing Tutorials, implementing into the batteries game a online system. Thanks

Hi Davixe,

We do have a networking video tutorial to help you get started with online multiplayer located here: A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements - Epic Developer Community Forums. This covers various aspects of online networking and should be very beneficial to you.

I already seen all of them. They are good tutorials, but are still quite trivial. There is no explanation about Session Management, Matchmaking, or Joining, and this parts seems to be the most difficult and also is the shortest part in the documentation. I just wondering a serie of tutorials that teach how works all online system, from the game session is created, to when the client is playing. Thanks

We will be filling out the online subsystem documentation including the topics you mentioned. This may it may not include a full example/tutorial. I can’t really say yet, nor do I have a timeline for when it will be available unfortunately. It should be listed on the roadmap so please upvote it if it is important to you.
