As a UEFN creator looking to build more advanced mechanics, the transition from standard Fortnite Creative devices straight into text-based Verse scripting can be a pretty massive hurdle.
With the recent announcements regarding the shift toward Unreal Engine 6 and a unified engine architecture, Epic mentioned that traditional Blueprints will eventually be phased out in favor of a new visual scripting system built directly on top of Verse.
I wanted to ask the community and the dev team a couple of questions regarding this:
- Timeline/Roadmap: Is there an updated timeline or an upcoming experimental/beta phase where creators will be able to test out this new visual scripting layer in UEFN?
- Transitioning Skills: For creators who aren’t traditional programmers, what is the best way to prepare for this new system right now? Will understanding the core structure of text-based Verse give us a major head start when the visual nodes eventually drop?
This system is going to be incredibly helpful for closing the gap between creative building and complex coding, and I’d love to hear any insights on what the rollout looks like!
Thanks
