UEFN is one of those opportunities you simply can’t afford to miss, the kind that come around only a few times in a lifetime.
Since the announcement, my team and I have been learning, mastering our skills, and striving to establish ourselves within this new ecosystem.
The effort put into each game, the challenges we’ve conquered, and the overall experience have been truly monumental.
Results don’t always align with our expectations, but we consistently learn, improve – getting better than yesterday yet not as good as tomorrow.
To all the fellow devs who, like us, are pouring their hearts into this: let’s give it our all. We not only have the chance to find our place in the industry but also to shape our careers as developers. Navigating the rapid pace of development, iteration, and evolution in an ever-changing ecosystem is both a challenge and a blessing.
Agree on every level but I must say that after spending alot of time hopping back and forth with unreal and uefn, it become sad day… There is a massive amount of features that could make uefn extremely better… Number one being blueprint support. Sure Verse is exciting…but I aint no programmer, my mind will not ever work in terms like that. im visual guy…uefn teases you with the reference viewer, they like “heres a similar interface you can’t edit at all! Have fun! HAHA loser learn VERSE!”
I just want to add and connect nodes pleaaaase!
Then epic said “okay heres some nodes you can play with and add and connect stuff”
opens material editor
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
TLDR
Blessing over Creative
Challenge under Unreal
I completely agree. It seems plainly obvious that UEFN has to evolve towards verse visual programming, and it’s known that they want to do it, but it’s understandable that they need to establish the foundations first.
I’ve dared to work on code with my team. Even though I’m quite inexperienced, it hasn’t been impossible. Generally, we have a culture of better learning now than regretting starting earlier in the coming years
