It’s just that I have plans to open my own Role play mode and I have a couple of questions, given that we have an updated roadmap.
I’ve been playing RP modes for a long time, and garry’s mod, roblox, gta, samp and etc
And I have a couple of questions about the possibility of creating such modes in fortnite.
Will we be able (in the future or later) to create full-fledged systems? I mean, for example, creating clothes, creating a character without using skins from fortnite.
Is there any chance that someone will make a separate multiplayer launcher like it was in GTA (fivem like), where players can create their own servers, although I think you should ask Epic directly.
Crafting your items, weapons, and animations are planned, that’s great, I take it all to be added in 2024/2025?
Creating full-fledged open-world maps? Is it available or are there still problems and it’s better to wait for time?
Also, can I change the combat system in the future? Shooting, bullet physics, the addition of full-fledged melee combat or melee combat ( like rdr2, assassin’s creed?)
You can create clothes and custom characters now - especially with MetaHumans. I believe the UEFN intends to utilize the player avatars from Fortnite. So the user would have their choice of their owned FN Skins. That is a pretty large monetization point for the company.
The is still Fortnite. The games are an extension of Fortnite in a round about way. So the LAUNCHER will be Fortnite. Once in the game, you can configure a custom UI as an internal launcher for visual purposes.
You can build assets outside of the editor and you can create custom animations within the editor or with third party programs. In addition you can create VFX and audio as well. So you can make the assets, but can you tune them (gun tuning)? I would have to investigate deeper but I am sure there is some amount of control on this. You would just make your gun a child of one of the others and modify the stats.
These Islands have memory limits. Size, props, etc. constitue elements of that size. So you have limitations that I think would fall far lower than the dimensions of GTAV, however it is, in a sense, still an open world map.
I partially answered this in #3, but, you can either use tuning of existing systems or Verse yourself something for Melee. I mean, there are a lot of existing animations and the concept of the pickaxe…
