Feature Request: Advanced 3D Modeling Tools and MCP Integration for UEFN
I’d like to suggest expanding UEFN’s built-in 3D modeling capabilities so creators can build professional-quality custom assets without relying heavily on external applications such as Blender.
UEFN already provides powerful tools for developing games, but creating detailed custom 3D models remains one of the biggest challenges. Creators often need to switch between multiple applications just to create, refine, and import individual assets.
Proposed Features
1. Advanced 3D Modeling Tools
Introduce a more complete modeling system directly inside UEFN, including:
-
Advanced mesh editing and geometry creation.
-
Sculpting, beveling, smoothing, and subdivision tools.
-
Better control over vertices, edges, faces, and curves.
-
Tools for creating detailed objects, equipment, buildings, and environments.
-
The ability to refine and repair imported 3D models.
2. MCP Integration for 3D Modeling
Expand UEFN’s MCP capabilities so AI agents can interact with advanced modeling tools directly.
For example, an AI agent could:
-
Create custom 3D models using modeling operations.
-
Modify individual components of existing meshes.
-
Inspect models from multiple angles.
-
Identify and correct geometry problems.
-
Apply materials and optimize assets for UEFN.
This could make AI-assisted game development significantly more useful, particularly for creators who aren’t experienced 3D artists.
3. Automated Model Refinement
It would also be useful to have tools that help creators identify and repair common modeling problems, including disconnected geometry, incorrect normals, overlapping surfaces, and poor mesh topology.
Why This Matters
For creators building games with large numbers of custom assets, 3D modeling can become a major development bottleneck.
Having advanced modeling tools directly inside UEFN, combined with MCP support, could significantly reduce development time and make professional-quality game creation more accessible.
I believe this would be a valuable improvement to UEFN’s existing development tools and AI-assisted workflows.
I’d love to hear whether Epic Games has considered expanding these capabilities in future UEFN updates.
