UE5 Play In Editor Or New Editor Window Laggy Wait Times

Yesterday I was learning UE5 and having no problems at all with running levels (instantly) in New Editor Window or Selected Viewport. But now, for some odd reason I start my PC today and it takes a good 10-12ish seconds for the game/scene to start every time I press play, and when I hit esc to stop, it takes an additional 10-15 seconds to wait for the editor to load. This new wait time problem also impacts opening any blueprints/particles/anything that requires a new window to open by the looks of it and I have no idea why this all of a sudden changed. I tried other projects and they are running perfectly. Any ideas?

Specs: Win 11 Home / i7-12700K / 32GB Memory / RTX 3080 Ti

Does this happen on empty levels? I’m wondering if there’s something heavy in the scene.

Probably won’t solve it, but why not:

  • Open the project folder (in windows explorer)
  • Delete Saved Folder
  • Delete Intermediate Folder

Those folders are storing temporary data.

OMG that fixed it… that’s freakin’ hilarious you made my day friend!

Everything is working as expected I’m totally blown away. I have no idea why this started happening. Thank you S-ed

It did happen on empty levels, opening any additional windows bp’s or partciles, every action took 10-15 steps… but @S-ed 's suggestion of deleting the Saved & Intermediate folder worked! I have no idea why. Any explanation would be appreciated though
