i have UE4 Working with Me Nice but when i download UE5 and try it i can see the main window that offer me to create new game or reopen Latest Game and when i select to create new Game like Third Person or any other template the editor re open and show the splash screen and its gone and editor not responding inside task manager and i cant select any thing on my desktop until i close ue5 from task manager
Seems to be something related to you UE5 installation. Maybe some files got corrupted while downloading or at some point after. Anyway, try the standard check list:
thanks for replying , but i tried all of this steps but its the same result , but i tried to debug the process of ue5 using visual studio and this is the result for output window

Have you tried opening a different project than the “My ThirdPerson” or even create a brand new one from scratch?
It may be possible that the “My ThirdPerson” project itself is corrupted. Do you have a backup?
i tried to create new project with different templates and try to open existing projects with old engine but after convert it to version 5 it give me the same result , if any way to debug the editor when starting to know where he stick or freeze
I have same like issue, working on my project in ue4.26.2 but when I tried to open this project in ue5 same error showed in task managers ( editor not responding). if I create brand new project in ue5 it works fine. can any one help me to solve this issue.
I have the same problem. I have installed the latest Nvidia Studio Driver 512.15 (doing a clean uninstall of my previous driver using DDU prior to it). I can open a project, but one minute into the project opening a menu and it freezes. Unreal Editor Not responding.
My colleagues who have the same setup don’t have that issue… what could this be?
The problem does NOT occur when NOT IN FULLSCREEN mode.
Unreal Editor 5 crash only happens when working in fullscreen mode.
My colleague who has the same laptop configuration does not have that problem.

Hello i have the same issue. After a few minutes, whatever the project (even basic or scrap), UE editor freeze making impossible to do anything and is “not responding” only visible in the task manager.
My pc configuration is enough to run UE (ryzen 7 2700X, 32 go ram, rtx 2070).
I also did proceed to several reinstallation of both epic games launcher and different UE versions. I have the lastest driver for my GPU. I did disable my anti-virus softwares. I also verified the engine with the option from the launcher.
Nothing works. I am desperate.
I wanted to know if anyone has found a solution to this issue ?

edit : i forgot to say that i was already in window mode.
edit 2 : reinstalling a previous version of the gpu driver fixed the issue.
I encountered the same problem,
After opening a specific project, unreal engine 5 becomes unresponsive after a few minutes of normal operation. It won’t crash and shut down, it just won’t be able to perform any operations. Nothing happens. No crash reports. In the task manager, you can see that the unreal editor is unresponsive.
I’ve tried different projects (the “SuperGridStarterpack” project downloaded from Epic market, and others) and this only happens in certain projects.
I tried downloading the same project twice using unreal engine 5.3.1 and unreal engine 5.2.1. The same problem occurs.
This question has troubled me for a long time, I hope someone can help me answer it. Thanks
Trying to revive this forum so somebody can see it because i also get the same issue exactly except sometimes for me it wont even show UE in the task manager anywhere.
