UE5 Normal detail Decal issue

Hello, I’ve been trying to grasp edgewear mesh decals and not working out very well. Not sure if it’s something wrong with my normal map/material/mesh etc. Issue look familiar to anyone? I’m in 5.0.3

Tried the same materials and mesh in UE4 and no issues, really not understanding whats different. Also tried no Lumen, re-baking, no mask, different mesh, decals turned off in engine, no decals received on mesh which I read somewhere. All make no difference in UE5.

So I tried the same thing in a new UE5 file and it worked as expected. Went back to the original UE5 file, deleted all decal related assets and reimported/remade materials, and it works now. No clue why but I’m not complaining.
