Hey everyone! ![]()
I’ve put together a comprehensive Game Design Document (GDD) for Ashes of Meridian — a third-person, narrative-driven open-world crime thriller set in a city facing an escalating flood threat.
Key Highlights:
Engine: Unreal Engine 5
• Mass Entity
• World Partition
• Chaos Vehicles
Core Twist:
There’s no traditional binary hero/villain morality meter. Instead, the player’s collateral damage and choices physically influence the city — changing districts, NPC behavior, environments, and the overall state of the world.
Protagonist:
Mara Velez, a former rescue specialist who becomes caught in a dangerous multi-faction conflict.
Technical Focus:
I’m especially looking for feedback on the feasibility of the dynamic ethics system, AI/NPC behavior, and district streaming using UE5 World Partition.
I’d love to hear from UE5 developers, AI engineers, gameplay programmers, and narrative designers.
