Crashing Nodes
pc specs:
16gb ram
radeon 5500 xt
ryzen 5 3600
more than enough storage
ive uninstalled and reinstalled ue5 versions, downloaded different ones, still having the same issue.
Ive tried deleting my appdata files but it wouldnt let me clear them all for some reason, is that something i must do?
Nice soft lock and back to desktop, eh. You do not even get the interception from the editor’s reporting tool.
It appears to be an OS / hardware related issue rather than a pure UE5 crash judging by the description and the video. It’s not uncommon this manifest in one application and not the other. My gut feeling tells me the editor does not like the display driver.
I’d start from the top:
- DDU the video card drivers; don’t skip this step
- get & install new drivers
- ensure you’re not running any overclocking software, overlays, hardware monitors
- memTest the system RAM
- do not overclock RAM
- check the temps of your system (CPU + GPU) while working with the editor, unlikely to be an issue here unless you’re running the viewport at 120Hz on the other monitor and really taxing your system somehow.
I’ve assumed your OS is not riddled with malware, viruses and you’re not mining DogeCoin$ in the background.
