UE5 Layers panel bugged - Can't right click or drag items to create new layer

I’m trying to create layers, but right clicking doesn’t show me the option to do so, and dragging objects into the panel doesn’t work either. Apparently this is a common problem, and I haven’t found some answers just yet.

Ok, just as I was writing this post, I think I found the solution. I’ve switched to Data Layers (Windows>World Partition>Data Layers Outliner), and so far it seems to function exactly like Layers did in older UE5 versions/tutorials.

Just leaving this out in case someone else stumbles upon this issue.

I’m having the same problem - the data layers options at least opened up the ability to create new data layers, HOWEVER, when working in composure and trying to set up my CG layer, the “ActorSet” drop down menu does nothing when you hit browse. I can’t add data layers to the ActorSet option, and it only allows me to choose from the old layers window (which doesn’t have any layers, because it won’t let me create any).

Not sure how to proceed with Composure without these options…

Using Data Layers, Actors can be dynamically loaded and unloaded in the Level Editor to help manage complex levels. They can be enabled using Blueprints to drive gameplay and are an important tool for managing asset streaming in a World Partition workflow.

Data Layers serves as a replacement for the previous Layers system found in older versions of Unreal Engine.

Did you ever solve this? Can’t convert level from WP and I want to use composure but I can’t cause WP level needs data layers… FML
