I was guessing because of c++ things will be faster.
Stuck for ages in load times, moving assets folder to folder its a nightmare -also cant copy paste assets , it breaks for sure ,you need to make a new project and migrate each assets to your project … in 2023 ?
Im trying right now to move a tree in my editor and it take sometimes minutes and sometime seconds ,wtf why the unreal team is not trying to fix things and always put more effort to envolve the editor with new feautures with so many bugs on it?
I have
rtx 2060
CPU i7-10750h
(with settings scale in medium)
move a tree in my editor and it take sometimes minutes and sometime seconds
Judging by the description, it sounds more like RAM / drive issue.
what is the laptop running in terms of RAM / SSD / HDD? These days 16GB may not be enough, and once a cheaper SSD’s DRAM cache buffer overflows, they slow down dramatically.
are the temps under control? UE5 + laptop can drive the temps up, which can result in CPU throttling, especially when you’re trying to push 120 / uncapped framerate in the scene
what’s the hardware utilisation GPU / CPU / RAM / DRIVE I/O while it take sometimes minutes?
I honestly cannot tell the difference between UE4 / 5 - not when it comes to managing assets.
My ram its at 48% i have 24GB of ram in totall so its not that for sure.
Also my temps are good nearly 58-65 celcius .
And i have scale in the medium graphics so i dont think its that the case .
I have seen dosens for those questions but not one epic member has answer them , why … where is the support ?
I dont think its my settings or my hardware. Its just “bugs”.
I have download unreal in some months and i cant do simple things…like manage a landscape assets .Always comes a problem or a bug or big loading-download times etc.
Your system is not under load. It this the idle state? Is the pic taken whileit take sometimes minutes? If so, then there’s definitely something not right about all this.
Showing us your PC idle state while it’s doing nothing is meaningless. Could we please see how your hardware behaves while you’re having problems / experience slowdowns. This should give you a good idea regarding which components are being taxed. Perhaps there is a hardware bottleneck, perhaps UE5 is misbehaving.
It’s impossible to tell atm.
Its just an empty landscape with 1-2 trees on it .Why this should be a heavy load?
It’s not heavy load. How difficult is it for you to replicate and demonstrate the undesired behaviour? How often does it happen?
Also, could you tell which assets are causing issues. I’ve seen many threads where the marketplace assets themselves were the problem due to their lack of optimisation / game readiness. Some assets are great for cinematics only while some may be game-ready. Admittedly, it was a while back.
I dont see any throttle and its not in indle state. You can see that im inside the editor from the picture.
Also i dont know why the moving assets take so much time but you continue to says that is my hardware and not the optimitization of the editor, what to say…
Read the forums its not only me…i dont know why you want this to be seen like “my fault” .
I am merely trying to help and identify the culprit / issue. Could you answer the questions above? I don’t see how anyone can help without understanding what we’re dealing with.
For example, you’ve yet to demonstrate how the system behaves when the issue happens. Or is the above pic takes while you’re having issues? Could you confirm?
You dont get it, im leaving the question as a complaint.I will not get any help i know it because i have seen also many forums talking about it in 19’ - 20’ and still had the same issues.
im just dissapointed it thats all .
One member also admit it in one of my previous questions that it takes much time to move assets because it correcting the paths etc but it take like minutes for 1 asset pack!
