Again and again these classic problems with textures when importing objects. I’m a newbie with UE5 and still in testing phase. I would first like to develop a sort of personal VR museum to learn the techniques (I love VR).
In addition to my personal creations, I draw from the countless and magnificent objects found on Sketchfab.
And for many of them, I end up with black textures when imported.
I found several explanations on the web (ray cast shadows, plugin, …) but for the moment, it doesn’t work.
In addition, the versions of UE follow one another quickly, the settings are no longer found in the same place and the solutions are sometimes obsolete.
I’m on UE 5.3 and when I import this object, some parts are black, others correctly visible.
Llast precision, the normals are in the right direction after import into Blender…
Could a kind soul test this import to understand where the problem is?
